Leather loops

Conventional leather processing has no use for the dents, scratches and other markings that stay behind in an animal’s hide. But those discarded surfaces can still be used: cut into strips and rolled up in a loop they form a new surface reminiscent of a long play record, the rings that form in the trunks of trees, or old-fashioned jojo candy. Carelessly discarded materials unite in carefully arranged colour patterns: they become seats and tabletops, the ultimate supporting surfaces.
